R. Vincent Olmstead is a writer, entrepreneur, and investor whose professional life has been spent building companies and helping ideas find their way into the world. He is the founder and managing partner of Vocap Investment Partners.
His creative life has always run alongside his business career. Over the years he has written films, plays, poems, songs, and business articles, though until now most of that work was shared only with family and a few close friends. The Question brings those two lives together in a novel about memory, friendship, and the choices that shape us over time.

A story carried for decades before it became a novel.
The first spark belongs to 1986. The first outline arrived around age thirty, then waited. Years later, his son’s travels reopened the box — and distance supplied what memory alone could not: the long middle of adulthood and the true cost of going back.
The manuscript grew to five hundred pages before the harder discipline began. The surprise was not how much the story needed to say, but how much stronger it became through cutting, rearranging, checking, and returning to every choice.
